Only the Beginning

As the days before Harrison left flew by, I decided to look up websites about "waiting for your missionary." You must first know that Harrison and I aren't dating, but plan to when we come home. AND this isn't a 24-month wait, rather a 42-month wait. I found a girl who has been blogging about waiting for her missionary. At first, I thought it was silly. And to be honest, I still kind of do. But I was talking to my friend, Chelcie, and reading this other girl's blog and decided to try it out.

So a quick recap of where I'm sitting. Harrison and I's last date was Tuesday, the 24th. The last time we saw each other was at his farewell talk (at which he had already been set apart... so no hugs) on the 29th. And he entered the Missionary Training Center in Provo, UT on February 1st. Of all these days, Sunday was probably the hardest. I was solid until I came home with a box of stuff he wanted me to have after cleaning his room. In it, he also gave me a cassette tape he recorded for me and a hershey's kiss (inside story.) I listened to the tape probably 5 times that night and cried almost every time.

It was hard, but I haven't cried since! It's been 11 days since we last saw each other, but it's flown by! I got my first letter on Monday and that helped a TON! Last Christmas, we got each other matching Teddy bears. He left his with me for his mission and I sleep with them both. I have a "count up" on my computer and I'm waiting for a pretty awesome countdown coming in the mail. Recording him a tape was probably one of the best things I could have done for myself. I would record on my way to work or in the mornings when I usually would talk to him. The only difference is he won't respond. I sent him a Valentine's Day package with a letter and a few cheesy things for him. This week and a half has gone by really quickly. I only hope every week is like that.

I go back to BYU-Idaho in April. I think studying will really help the time go by as well. I don't just want to focus on how soon we can see each other, though. I want to grow and become a better person for him and for myself.

I will post more as things keep happening. Thanks, Chelcie for the push to do this!

This was our T-Shirt date. He kept trying to paint my nose. :)

Prom! Our one and only break from dancing except for pictures. Great night!

Dancing with Santa!

The results of the T-Shirt Date. :D

He wanted to try on sun glasses. Cute!

Hugging Santa!

EFY. I just wanted a normal face. This is what I got. Stinker!

What a handsome boy I got to dance with!

I know what I want for Christmas! ;)

So... I don't really like the idea of Santa Clause. Harrison was having a great time making me take pictures with him.

Our first date! That's what started it all!

Last date before I left for BYU-Idaho!

Looking at Christmas lights after he picked me up from the airport from BYU-Idaho. I sure did miss him!
